#05 – uns*: Queering Fashion | Cora Hamilton, Max Weiland (uns*)

Show notes

NOTE: This episode has been edited from its original version. Comments made about the importance on the 'A' in LGBTQIA+, and the emphasis on ally inclusivity, have been removed, as this does not adequately prioritize queer, marginalized identities. We apologize, and acknowledge that we are on a continuous learning journey within our own active allyship, and welcome constructive feedback on how to navigate the language of crucial topics such as queer representation.

For this episode, we feature two of Berlin’s changemakers who are ‘queering’ fashion. Cora Hamilton and Max Weiland co-founded uns* in 2020, after realizing the lack of representation for queer talent in the city. Together, they are growing their vision for a LGBTQ+ modeling agency into a cultural movement, where beauty is (finally!) defined by multiplicity, not normativity. These two have partnered with major initiatives, such as H&M Beyond, to not just bring queer talent into the spotlight, but to use their platform for education. They join 202030 to share their story of creating uns*, and of transforming Berlin’s talent industry.

Max and Magdalena, our hosts, share their thoughts and excitement on this changing cultural climate, and on why queer inclusion is a meaningful part of a regenerative fashion future.
